"Mitch Amatrudo Voice, Music & Sound" is a part-time endeavor for me. I am a full-time Deputy Fire Marshal in Connecticut.
I began playing the drums and singing in bands in 1976. Along the way I picked up guitars and keyboards, worked on my vocals, and soon found that I could create full musical pieces entirely on my own. I was a music major at the University of Bridgeport, CT and moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to pursue a music career. In the process spent a great deal of time in recording studios and performing on stage. I always had a small studio set up in my home where I would record and produce my own material.
After returning to Connecticut in 1995, I built a recording studio in my home, where I continue to compose and produce material. In 2003, a co-worker of mine on the Fire Department commented on how impressed he was with my speaking voice. He is a part-time web designer and asked me to record a streaming audio voice-over for a site he was in the process of constructing. This was the impetus for me to pursue voice-over work. I would later attend voice-over classes where I learned the basics of interpreting and delivering copy. I also realized that I could combine my voice talents with the ability to create musical compositions, and this is the concept that my business is based upon.
My technical talents as an engineer and producer grew from being able to squeeze out decent sounding demos from my original Casio keyboard, drum machine, and a 4-track reel-to-reel tape deck years ago, to operating the PC based digital recording equipment that I now own which makes this business possible. Exciting technological developments in recent years in home sound recording and telecommunications have also helped to make this vision a reality. I invite you to surf my site.
